Settler's Way Mall will be a self sufficient mall. We asked ourselves, "Why can't buildings behave like plants? Extract it's water from the ground and it's energy from the sun". So began the concept of Settler's Way Mall. We set off to design a self sufficient building that will look like a cruise ship at the banks of the East London Harbour to address some of the socio-economic challenges that we face in the country whilst introducing new structural ideas within the industry. We also wanted to address some health issues with this building so our design takes all the above into consideration to ultimately bring out the best design solution to meet our objectives.

We will make use of exciting innovation to generate electricity from kinetic energy of moving people, solar panels and more. This project is guaranteed to be the first of its kind in South Africa and the continent of Africa.
